My last girlfriend is/was 23. Obviously, we didn't have life experiences in common - shit, I'm old enough to be her dad - but we have plenty of likes and dislikes in common, and of course we created shared experiences. There's alot to be said for personalities that mesh. Unfortunately, she moved back home to California to take care of her mother, who has breast cancer. I really miss her.

The sharing of new experiences with a new partner is a tremendous feeling. That's exactly what I'm looking for right now.

 

Detroit has sucked since the Ford family bought them after their late 1950s champ-years. People around here get their hopes up every year, still, because Detroit is a sports town. The only thing that hasn't changed since the 1950s is the owner. The Fords can't run a football team. End of story.

 

That's because they meddle in the decision making aspect, instead of letting the people they hire to do the job. Not unlike the McCaskey family that owns the Bears.

 

Yes they do. But the people they hire aren't qualified, either. Can anyone name a Lions head coach who has left the Lions to be a head coach for any other pro team? The "no" answer is mind-boggling.

 

Maybe. I stopped following pro football years ago the moment I realized the Lions will never get to the Super Bowl under the Ford family ownership. I was such a fan as a kid, too. But, aside from the Barry Sanders years when the score didn't matter because Barry was a show within a show, I can't get into my home team. Sucks.

Football side note: There is nothing more exciting, and underrated in football, than a kick return.

 

Walter was far more interesting to watch because he ran through defenders, instead of around them. That motherfucker was tough, more old school, like the position called for. My :2cent:
