Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Talkin' about rock stars/guitar stars: In a solo, it's all about playing what belongs in the song -- playing to take the song to the next level. It's not about playing fast, or the most hammer-ons, or anything else. Jimi Hendrix always makes me laugh in the song "Fire," when he says, right before his guitar solo, "Move over Rover. Let Jimi take over!" Then he plays the mother of guitar solos -- it belongs in the song, and takes it up about 10 levels!

    Gilmore is probably the finest rock guitarist ever. When you hear him play there is no doubt in your mind who you're listening to. He plays with so much skill and heart it's mind boggling. He doesn't need to wow you with excessive technique or theatrics. His play penetrates and grabs you by the soul and sweeps you along in his artistry.
