i had a nice new york steak a couple nights ago, i eat a lot of steak for dinner, especially in the summer when its good weather for grilling

I did a great motivational speech yesterday. when we first started I limited my crew to 1000 feet a night. it was clear they were capable of more and the gravel was compacting so good during the day.

so I talked with all 8 of them, consulted with them and challenged them to doing 1500 feet for the next two nights so we could finish early. that pumped them up and sure enough they got it done.

there is one guy around my age running the loader and the whole rest of the crew are all over 40. I explained to them that I am young but I have been around Airports for the last 15 years. I told them I'm not here to teach you how to run your equipment, you fuckers can teach me shit I haven't even forgotten yet. I'm here to teach you how to overlay a runway and still keep the damn thing open during the day.

it's pretty cool comraderie (sp?) we had after only the second day. all joking around like we knew each other for a long time.

we get good grilling weather here most of the time but ive tried a couple times in the winter and the wind wouldnt let the bbq get hot, basically wasted some good steaks.

 

A personal question, inuk: Is the money up there massive because of the location?

Wind can be a problem for sure. We get some nasty winds here in the winter, especially Jan and Feb, but for the most part I'd say we have good grilling weather about 85% of the time.
