My GF's parents just arrived in the country from Australia for a 3-month visit. The 4 of us hung out for about an hour yesterday before the gf took her mom back to the airport to pick up her roommate, leaving me with the dad.

They seem cool, though. He's clearly interested in making sure I'm good to her, but savvy enough not to ask too many questions all at once.

Had them over for dinner tonight and cooked a lasagna.

Have you considered sending him a pm? Maybe you can get him back on the board. I got the sense he felt things changed fairly rapidly around here while he was on vacation, and that he felt out of the loop. I don't know if that has any bearing on why he hasn't been around much lately though.

I once had a gf from Egypt. She was fairly Americanized because she had spent the majoruty of her life in the US and Canada, but her mother was a strict, though somewhat westernized, muslim. I was never more uncomfortable in my life than when I met that woman. I managed to say just about everything wrong even though I was the picture of sincerity!
