He's a strange SOB. I remember times seeing he, and his whole family dressed in military fatigues riding around Bangor in an Army "deuce and a half" (2 and a half ton truck).

 

I gotta come over to your place, so i can stalk 2 persons at the same time :mrgreen:

 

I know very little of the man, but his writing skills are SUPERNATURAL!

 

An old friend of mine's family actually bought the house he wrote Pet Sematary in, and when they moved in they found a "secret" room with no windows, painted all black, with a single chair in the middle of it where he apparently went to do his "thinking" :shock:

 

I am sure that where his alter ego Richard Bachman came out :twisted:

I loved desperation and the regulators !

 

The place is laid out just as it is in the book, and it's complete with a path in the back yard. But there's no ridge/hill behind it, just an acre, or so of land then another house.

 

I think it was "The Long Walk" ?
That was another one of "Bachman's" sweet short stories.

 

he's often mentioned that the key to prolific writing is having NO distractions, windows, visitors, etc. Nothing to corrupt the creative muse. That dude is hardcore.

Have you seen his house here in Bangor sleepy? I don't know if you'd refer to it as a tudor (i.e. kind of an English country home) or not, but it's right in the heart of the "city" on West Broadway. He does it up big on Halloween (when he's here) and the place is surrounded with a wrought iron, black fence with bats, gargoyles, etc. on top.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, the wife & I actually got married on Halloween.

 

I ain't surprised one bit !

 

It was an awesome wedding if I do say so myself! the best man was a zombie, & the bridesmaid was dressed up as Bettie Page, she was hot as fuck! (not as hot as the wife though)

 

It is a pretty cool place, and they seem to be pretty open to all the tourist traffic it receives, especially this time of year.
