Every costume works on Emma. You can strip her back to no makeup or really amp it up like we did in Cruella and she will take anything. But I got an email from Yorgos that just said, 'No wigs.' Not having wigs you have to go back to basics and it's difficult. I had to die her hair and eyebrows constantly as the roots would come through to keep it that black. The only wigs were merkins because... it's gotta match!

Also, if you watch the movie it's pretty obvious. Just look at the scene where Emma is getting eaten by the other woman: it's not a frontal view, but she's not wearing the merkin and she doesn't look hairy at all down there.

By the way, allow me to add two things. The first one is watch the movie if you haven't yet: it's great, besides Emma's nudity.

Nah, I saw it in theaters, and beyond the great acting from Stone and Ruffalo, the story and themes, direction and production design are magnitudes better than a Skinemax flick from 1994. There's a lot of sex, yes, but it's nowhere near a porno. We shouldn't conflate them, if only so more A-list actresses take on these kinds of parts like Emma was brave enough to.
