    Actually sometimes a daypack is overkill and cumbersome for what I want to bring that day, so I understand this... it's basically the same as a bum bag carried like a satchel/messenger bag. The only reason not to use it is exactly because of this kind of shaming from other people who think it's not "manly" to use a particular kind of bag (which is stupid when you think about it). Honestly seems much more manly to use the bag that suits you and not give a fuck what other people think.

    My comment came from the Seinfeld episode where a girlfriend gave Jerry a man purse. He reluctantly wore it, embarrassed, and if someone questioned it, he exclaimed "It's European!" ;)
