Melon has been posting again, but jenn has been MIA pretty sure.

Thanks man, id really love to travel the world and see the places that other people live in, but at the same time i guess i forget how good it is here and how many people would love to see this place.

No worries, I'm usually good with parents and hers seem pretty cool so it should be all good.

I went to New Zealand a while back, and loved it. From what the GF says, Australia is 10 times cooler so I'm really looking forward to visiting. So far, top 3 places I've been outside the US:
1. Graz, Austria -- Awesome city, and beautiful people. Apparently Napoleon said he lost more troops to the women of Graz than in any battle.
2. Abel Tasman Park, New Zealand -- If you like hiking/nature, go here. 'nuf said.
3. Quito, Ecuador -- perfect weather all the time, 70F/21C and amazingly sunny all the time. Really nice people, inexpensive service, and incredible food.

 

Worth noting that the US is about the size of Europe, so you can do a huge amount of travelling in the country. The difference between Cajun-speaking bayou folks in Louisiana and Inuits in Alaska is at least as big as the difference between Madrid and Paris.

Even without going that far, there's a huge difference between Manhatten and the Navajo reservation.

If you come here, plan on renting a car. Europe you can avoid it if you learn the rail system.

 

Oh no doubt, I've been all over the US. I hitchhiked from Dallas to New Orleans on one occasion and from Colorado to Texas to California on another just to get a real feel for the local nature of the country - and because I'm a little nuts! I wouldn't recommend it to everybody. My favorite trip was a four week drive around all the Great Lakes - from Chicago to Chicago. Did it with a GF. I'll never forget it!

Just make sure it's got plenty of oil, jumpstart it when it needs, and whatever you do watch out for the tranny...
