    I like that Adam Sandler can be classified as one thing and one thing only in Hollywood: he is the posterboy for the romantic-comedy genre.


    Every single film he has done supports this claim.

    Huh? Hugh Grant is much more a classic romantic comedy posterboy. Sandler usually just does straight comedies, though he's done a few romantic comedies here and there. But his signature movies (Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, etc) aren't romantic comedies. Chuck and Larry was sort of, but the rest of his last 4 movies weren't (Reign over Me, Click, the Longest Yard).

    And even his romantic comedies (e.g. the Wedding Singer) usually skew more toward straight comedy than classic romantic comedies.

    Heh. I switched to Linux in 1994, had to help write the driver for my Ethernet card. It's been a decade since I've had any problems finding drivers, though. :)

    Classic romantic comedies? yes. But Sandler really knows how to promote a comdey movie that turns out being about love int the end much more than Grant does.


    Happy Gilmore - the redhead
    Billy Madison - the teacher
    the Waterboy - the girl from the Craft
    Little Nicky - Patricia Arquette
    Click - Beckinsale
    two movies with Berrymore
    Spanglish - the latina
    Zohan - another latina

    I'll concede Longest yard and Reign Over M, mainly becuase I have not seen nor do I know the plots/characters.

    I'll just say that although his genre is comedy, he manages to work in the romantic untertone angle in damn near 95% of his filmography. :p
