I'm not a big horror fan. I'd take the 1990s over the 80s though. At the top you've got Silence of the Lambs and Misery. Those are 2 of the greatest horror films ever, IMO (along with the Shining and the Exorcist).

Then you've got solid entries like Se7en and the Sixth Sense, and you've got some good camp selections with Scream, From Dusk 'Til Dawn, and Army of Darkness.

EDIT: Almost forgot Rosemary's Baby, Vertigo, Rear Window, and Rebecca as all-time greats.

In that case, if you ever rent Peter Jackson's King Kong skip the first 40 minutes.

Yep. I try to look at genres I don't like every few years just to make sure my instincts are still valid.

I viewed Silence of the Lambs, Se7en, and the Sixth Sense as suspence movies but you're right those were fav's of the ones you mentioned. The Shining and Exorcist were good horror movies, didn't like Scream and haven't seen the others you mentioned.

Probably requires a working knowledge of English literature to get this not funny joke. Polonius is a Dane in "Hamlet" who's always trying to give out unwanted advice, badly.

One of his speeches introduced a whole bunch of common English phrases ("Clothes make the man", "neither a borrower or a lender be", "this above all, to thine own self be true", etc).
