Actresses who have never gotten naked?

Kate Hudson- almost famous, the skeleton key, The killer inside me, good people

Roslyn Sanchez- yellow

Kirsten dunst- Marie Antoinette, melancholia, All good things.

Those are the ones burnt into my brain, without trying

 

So she's had some roles on a few second rate sitcoms when the role in 24 was supposed to propel her to superstardom?

And that's fair enough, that's more than most actors could ask for, but her career isn't what it could have been or would have been if she'd simply done a nude scene or two

 

It's unlikely a nude scene would have improved her career prospects

 

I disagree, for two reasons:

1) Most of the big name actresses with career longevity have gotten nude at least once in their career.

2) She was a sex symbol. She was all over magazine covers and doing pictorials as well as appearing in 24 in increasingly skimpy outfits and in The Girl Next Door as a porn star. All eyes would have naturally been on her first nude scene. Because she refused to do nudity, people lost interest, as happened with Jessica Alba, Megan Fox and a bunch of other pin-up types who likewise refused to get nude for a role, or do a nude pictorial

 

Not really, which is why this thread is 10 pages long.

 

Yes but a lot of the names mentioned here either
A) Aren't big big A-List stars (or were but faded, hence no longevity)
B) Are young/relatively young and haven't had the opportunity
or
C) Actually have done nudity and the poster wasn't aware of it (as seen on the previous page when the poster listed Kate Hudson, Kirsten Dunst, Tara Reid and Roselyn Sanchez)

I cannot think of a single, non-Golden Age, A-list actress who has remained in demand without doing a nude scene at least once in her entire career. Usually several times.

 

Jennifer Aniston has been promising and not delivering for 20-something years. Oh, there's a scene that's cut (which is the only way she sells tickets anymore) at the last minute, or blah blah blah fuckin blah. Fact is, she's never done a remotely decent nude scene.

Dark, blurred, pixelated, body doubled, camera angled crap, every last one.

You cannot say she wasnt A-list for years doing that shit.

Cate Blanchett is probably the only actress I can think of who is high profile, in high demand and who never took her clothes off. Everybody else, Meryl Streep, Jodie Foster, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, Helen Mirren and so on, all took their clothes off at one point in their careers. Sometimes long after anybody wanted them to. That's the prerequisite for longevity in the business if you're an actress. The audience has to appreciate your 'talents' before they can truly appreciate your talents

 

You're reaching for a correlation that you feel or want to be true, but isn't really there.

Plenty of examples of all kinds

True, but even though I've never been an Alba fan, I don't think she's crying about what could have been since she's close to being a billionaire via her own businesses and investments.

It could also be said that if Cuthbert had gone nude to take "advantage" in the early exposure that she got due to 24 and The Girl Next Door, she may have been typecast and lost roles. She didn't really have the range to be a lead on film, with a few exceptions. There are actually few existing movies where anybody ever said that Cuthbert would have been so much better in that part (she actually lost a few parts in superheroes movies to Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Alba and Kate Bosworth). But she's had a steady career on TV, and that makes her an actress who's still in activity rather than some former hot girl who's now in her forties.

Similarly, Allison Brie, who's never hidden that she loved streaking and spending time in the nude when she was in college, turned down for a long time any nude role, but it helped her not being pigeonholed as a sexpot and to get unexpected opportunities, such as her voice work in BoJack Horseman or The Lego Movie. And when her credentials were firmly established, she started to do some nudity, on her own terms.

 

Julia Roberts is the first name that came to mind. I’ve seen pictures of her with nipple pokies, but that’s all I’ve ever seen.
