    good grief! (lol)

    Colorization take a little more effort than just brightness & contrast adjustments. The key is to not over-do it and be more subtle. Often you'll need to reduce the saturation to tone down the color once you have the hue you're happy with. If you wouldn't mind, post the original pic next to it too, so we can see what you've done.
