    Who knows, but if I had to guess I'd say it has to do with all those tattoos. Difficult to cover up for a full body nude scene in broad daylight which is supposed to be set in the sort of medieval period i.e before they had tattoos

    An alternative I've heard is that Lena saw Cersei as a sort of empowered woman and she didn't want to do the nude scene because that nude scene was not empowering. Which is missing the point of the character but okay. She wouldn't be the first person who did that show to not actually understand the point of the characters

    I think it is obvious. There's a big difference between being nude on a closed set with a handful of people than walking through a street among hundreds of extras.

    I'd be more likely to buy that as an explanation if she didn't appear nude like millions of times. I mean, who wants to bet none of those extras saw 300? There's only a few key shots of nudity in the GOT scene anyway, probably could've just green-screened them

    The simplest explanation is usually the best one: the tattoos. They usually cover up tattoos by airbrushing and make-up, there's a special latex paint they can use. However, we're talking about a day or several days worth of filming in relatively warm weather. Lena has a lot of tattoos. For many logistical reasons it was probably just easier to use a double.

    I would think covering tattoos with cgi editing would be a lot easier than putting her head on someone else's body. I thought she'd recently had a baby and didn't want to show her whole body.

    I made 14 clips of Lena nude (topless mostly) no full frontal. So this could be a reason!?
    Two of my favorites: Waterland and Aberdeen.

    True but very brief very different form than the scene from GOT. Anyhow, that could be many reasons why that GOT scene was CGI.
