I wish I could sleep in one position all night. I have to sleep with a CPAP every night and I wake myself up turning over ripping the damn mask off.

Oh, you have sleep apnea, bama?

I get really hot at night, so need to turn 3-4 times, so it's been unbelievably hard to change a lifelong habit.

I end up in the morning with the one side of my body sore as hell, with my hip making it almost impossible to walk until i shower.

    Sucks.

Yes, unforetuneately so. Most of the time I don't even know when I quit breathing but it's much worse when I drink to much. I've really bad sinus problems as well so that don't help matters either. I'm supposed to sleep on my back - just can't get in the habbit of it yet.

I get hot as well, I couldn't deal with my bedroom being higher than about 68F at night.

That's got to be pretty scary, bama.

I can't sleep on my back either. I've always slept on my side and nothing will ever change that.

Like I said, most times I don't know it. The wife has woke me up several times cause I went so long before starting back it scared her - I don't even remember it the next a.m. so it doesn't really bother me. Probably less than a dozen times did it wake me up and scare the shit out of me.

It's fucked though, mostly only obese people have the problem and I'm about 5' 10 or so and 165 lbs.

It's a bitch. I've not had mine for a year yet but I rarely make it past 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. The only really bad thing that I know of is puts more stress on your heart. I also have problems keeping my blood pressure down so that part scares me a little.

I don't know if i could handle it, knowing that i stopped breathing at times.

    That sucks.

Any reason why you got it, or just bad luck?

    Bloody women.

My missus' alarm goes off at 6.50am, usually she gets up just before 7am.
Today she clearly went back to sleep, so at 7.10am i wake her up, and she goes 'oh, i didn't go back to sleep, i was just resting and lost track of time'.

    Bollocks.

I have woken up before gasping for air and on occasion have woken myself up from a light sleep with my own snoring.
Have a 300 to 500 dollar machine next to me and have tried and tried to use but cant fall asleep with it. The few times I did it was off after an hour or so.

Need to get a real job and have the surgery done.

Oh yeah, I have insomnia too.

I would be too scared to sleep, seriously.

What surgery is that? And what does it cost? Sorry, i don't know a great deal about it.

They cut away some of the extra tissue in the back of your throat that causes you to stop breathing. I'm sure it is expensive thats why I need a good job with good insurance.

I'll sleep for twelve hours straight and wake up tired.

    Yessum.

    She does it often though.

I tend to get up earlier, and i'll hear her sleeping an hour later, yet when she gets up she claims she never got back to sleep.

That's almost scarier than the problem itself.

over the last few years i have realized what a bad nights sleep really does to you. Tired of course, but memory is affected, heart has more stress, can help contribute to mental defects, (depression and anxiety for me), eating habits.

It's a real pain in the ass.
Not afraid of the surgery it's just that it only cure about 50% of people, the others have the tissue grow back in a year or so.
(Not exact stats but the last I heard)
