I need to have another whinge about the weather.

It's 5.30pm and it's still fucking 38 degrees (about 103F).

Doing my fucking head in.

 

that's kind of funny but i'm not surprised. i've heard of this a few times. some serious steak people take "well done" as an insult.

 

My restaurant cooks staeks well all the time. Guests always ask me "What is this black stuff all over my steak?' I say CHAR! They say..."Char? whats char?" I just laugh.

 

toolz... have you ever had kobe beef? i had it for the first time a couple of weeks ago.

 

I fucking love my steak well done, almost burnt.

My love for it probably also comes from the fact that we are big barbecue people here in Australia, so i've lost track of the number of times i've had steak cooked on a barby, and everytime it's burnt to a crisp.

 

Yes I have. It pretty damn good....but very expensive.

 

Its like $25 a oz.

 

It happens quite regularly down here, with the snobby chefs.

Do what the customer wants, for fuck sake.

 

I tried it last week at a fancy restaurant we went to.

It's nice, but not nearly worth the cost (it was $80AU for a serve).

 

I actually dont see well done as a insult. I agree....give them what they want.

 

My job is to make the guest happy.....otherwise I dont make any money.

 

it sure is good, and it sure is expensive. i had it at Iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant in philly called.... Morimoto. the food and restaurant were phenomenal

believe it or not, no. i don't like sushi. i had the pork kakuni, which was a pork and porridge dish in some kind of amazing sweet brown sauce, then one of the best soup's i've ever had, followed by the kobe beef as my entree, and dessert

 

My job also involves educating people, on food and wine.....especially for the 1st time diner. I groom them.

 

I tried it at 'Nobu', which you should know of.

They have like 19 sites around the world and are owned by celebrities.

They're all the rage here, so we went there for my birthday.

Food is nice, but way overpriced and the servings are not nearly enough for a fully grown man.

I spent a fortune there and still stopped for a burger on the way home.

 

i also agree the chef should do whatever the customer wants. if they enjoy well done steak, then they enjoy it. just make it.
