i have facebook and myspace, although i hate myspace. it's very childish and immature, but i do it to keep in touch. facebook isn't significantly more mature, but it definitely is. i'm glad i have them both for communication purposes, but i'm not one of those people that is on there all day playing with my profile and background and adding music when the page loads and all that gayness.

 

It's a blog site, one of the bigger ones. Usually a little older crowd than myspace, and tends to be more text/essays and less pics and flashing lights than a myspace page--each post allows comments, so it's like a mini message board where only you can start new threads.

I think I posted maybe 6-7 times total.

 

Are you an Aussie? Someone yesterday was saying they're from Perth, but I can't remember who.

I'm in the exact age group that Myspace and Facebook target, i've just never understood the point of them.

They seem to be one big 'look at me' wankfest.

They're good for keeping up with friends after college (if you/they move all over the place), depending on how you use 'em. But all the good ones I know are private (friends only), and the posts are just "I'm going to New York this weekend, anyone living/visiting there?", "Here's what I've been up to", etc.

The public ones are by and large cries for attention.

 

Did you stop at 7 or 8 lastnight?

 

Cool I have a good friend from Perth (who lives here now). We're probably taking a trip there end of this year (I've never been to Western Australia, only Sydney and New Zealand on that side of the world).

 

That was kind of what I gatherd.

A lot of them are sort of like those friendship bracelets that girls used to wear in middle school, where the more you had the cooler you were. There are people on myspace who just try to amass as many friends as possible since that makes you cooler.

dont some other boards make you sign up to be able to view the pics,
but you can still see the links etc,
like a teaser sort o thing
this would surely free up some bandwidth and speed us up a little
