Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

there are legitimate reasons for it. they think by giving people more daylight hours in the morning they can get people to use less electricity therefore saving the planet from more greenhouse gas emissions. The majority of americans still work in the early morning and businesses are the biggest consumer of electricity. ;)

I wouldn't call it legitimate when every study I've seen shows the opposite. When DST was extended for 4 weeks in 200 for the Olympics, energy use went up. More recently, the Indiana switch gave the closest thing to a controlled experiment you could get for this; it showed that going to DST uses a lot more energy than staying on standard time would:

Yep, got about 2 more weeks before things are back to normal.

I like it personally once I get my sleep on track, it gives me more time in the afternoons to do things outside. As it was a week ago, it was dark when I got home from work.

well in light of this research i stand corrected, it was always my assumption that DST helps reduce energy use but with this new report i say get rid of the fucker.
