Never did ask, how did Valentine's night go for you at work?

 

Valentines' is amateur night. All the Joe's who come out once a year. They all stink. Still was a decent night though. Busy as hell.

 

being a server at a high end place is great money indeed.


Salty i am not a huge semi-auto guy simply because i suck at shooting them big time. I am a revolver and shotgun type of guy. But having stated my biases here is my choice on semi autos. cause i always have an opinion.


Glocks are my second choice in handguns. I prefer sig and the 40 caliber most. Although i own neither caliber or brand gun.

I have a baby eagle 9 mm and a kimber 1911 in 45acp. If you want something powerful to shoot with a 10mm is a great caliber, expensive as fuck t shoot but a great knockdown power gun. I prefer the more mild and manageable recoil 40cal. same bullet diameter but less recoil and power which i think is better for home defense. You can more quickly squeeze off a second or third shot with a 40 than you can with a 10mm. and if you happen to miss a 40cal will stop at your neighbor's door rather than go through it and possibly hitting your neighbor.


So what is your decision making process behind purchasing such a firearm? You want to do some hunting with that or hit paper targets?

 

really, I would've thought a lot of "regulars" would've made reservations there. I'm sure it was busy as hell though.

 

when dealing with high end steakhouses you usually see a slightly older crowd. They know better than to go out on valentines day.

 

It's all about home protection azz. It's a long story that I won't bore our fun bros with now, but my neighborly neighborhood recently took a down turn. An 8 foot high, 200 foot long fence, and the purchase of the Glock are deterrents to the issue.

well if it is for home defense i would have personally prefer the 40cal over the 10mm. You can save a ton more money buying 40cal bullets to practice with than shooting a 10mm. Also the recoil for a second or third shot in home defense is important in case you miss with the first shot or need a double/triple tap to make sure he is dead(you don't want them living but crippled to sue your ass).


Just go to the range and get lottsa practice.

what is nice is in my area tax is 8% so when calculating tip i normally just double the tax amount. if the service is exceptional then i add a bit more to that.

I can't remember exactly but it seems like I paid about $150 for the wife and I when we went in New York but I didn't buy any wine. In Chicago I drank beer and I paid right at $100 for myself, wife wasn't there it was a business trip.

 

The $150 I mentioned is without alcohol.

 

Maybe one round of drinks in that amount.

 

yeah, since i don't drink alcohol my tab are usually pretty cheap. Some steak houses like Morton make almost all their profits off their wine. The food is just the attraction.
