haha - how did you get involved in that anyway?

 

well my best friend and i hunt together. his cousin has 100,000 acres of ranch/farm land up north and so when we first came there it was mainly for deer (if we can ever get pulled for a tag, odds are 1 in 6) geese, quail, ducks, and doves. But since he has so much ranch lands he said there are other nuisance animals we can also help him shoot like rock chucks, coyotes, and ground squirrels. So i bought a 22-250 and my friend bought a 204 so we can pop those suckers. They dig holes in the ground that if a cow steps in them it would snap their ankles, or if they dig holes in the farming area it causes the irrigation equipment to get damaged. so we go up there after snow melt before the grass gets to high to conceal them and shoot them. We would decimate tons of them but because they breed like rodents we have to do it every year.

 

did you see my thread from last year what happens to the ones i shot up? This year i am changing to hollow points to see if there is more devastating.

yes I seen it. It remember it pissed several people off cause they animal activist.

there was nothing left of the ground squirrels - I'm sure the other coyotes, buzzards, and crows took care of the others.

seagulls came and ate them mostly

well only a few hypocrites complained. they eat beef but don't know what is involved in th process.

that was a truly awesome shot. the ones i hit running have just a spinal cord left.

yeah coyotes and seagulls mainly, but i see some get pulled under by their own kind to be canabolized. :-?

oh and this year i am bringing up 500 more 22-250 rounds than last year. last year tells me i was underprepared. 2,800 total rounds just wasn't enough.

 

yes but pretty accurate He did put a large Warning in the thread title though - if people looked at it that doesn't like seeing that sort of thing it was their own fault.

 

i shoot for fun yes, but it is to also help out a friend and an industry. it is either i do that or they pump gas down their tunnels and blow them up.

to cold for buzzards is my guess cause i have never seen them up there. we are talking about -25 degrees winters up there. crows i do see, but they don't call their buddies in groups like the seagulls do. I hate seagulls cause once you have one many will follow and they scare all the squirrels down their holes.

damn -25 is too cold for me.

buzzards are far worse than crows around here, but both of them come in groves when they smell out carcuses.

yeah, i think this is why i have never seen a buzzard up there. around where i live they do shoot ground squirrels but i don't have access to their land so all i know is what other hunters describe.

this year i am bringing up my DSLR for alot more pics. i also plan this trip to coincide with the fur trade that goes on so you can see what people do up there for income. it will literally blow your mind away but i won't say it because without picture proof none of you will believe me!
