I dunno. They haven't played overly poorly, the wickets have more been suited to the bowlers each time, without Ishant Sharma in the team there's a bit of pressure reduced as well. There's always been a couple of people in the team that have batted well, but they've been let down by 3 people most games. Hopefully this is competitive, they only just missed out on winning the last game.

Ponting has this weird 'man love' thing for Johnson.
He shows complete and utter faith in him, at all times, something he never gave Stuart Clark (or anyone else who isn't in his pocket).

    I tend to disagree.

I thought India were in control throughout their entire innings, and that 239 was never going to be enough.

I might have to put the tv back on now :D

Although Dhoni is a wonderful ODI cricketer, and both Sharma and Pathan can give it some tap, so it'll be interesting to see what they make.

Turn it on just to see Sharma get out.

Would have preferred Dhoni, but can't complain.

Ricky is the best batsman Australia has produced since Greg Chappell, but i don't like how he plays favourites and gives the cold shoulder to anyone who doesn't fit into his 'peer group'.

I don't know if going a full pace attack was the way. Johnson really didn't step up today, but on the other hand he can be extremely useful on occassion.

True. I'm thinking of a different game, one where Aus were chasing. Too many games on in such a short time. It still took india till the 46th over to get there, could have been quicker.

    Hey luvnit

Yep i love ricky's batting aswell! but i think your right! and as for Mitchell Johnson im not to sure about him i mean he's done good things but is still a bit hit and miss for me. Stuart Clarke on the other hand is diffenately our replacement for glen Mcgrath i think!

Yea I'd have to agree. Surprised Symonds was still in the team after the IPL took him for $1.25million, more then Ricky's $300k. I'm sure he was filthy at getting such a low price.

Hopefully they choose a young spinner to replace Hoggy, and not another 36 year old. Last report I heard they were looking at a 36 year old spinner, that's really not a good long term option IMO. Get someone younger, sure they'll go for a few more runs per wicket, but they'll learn more and become more useful then another bowler that's gonna retire in a year or two.

Hogg would have been a better option.

Whilst we got 10 overs from Clarke and Symonds, i still think Hogg is good for the team.

His enthusiasm, fielding and 'handiness' with the bat make him a valuable member of the team.

For line and length Clark's the replacement for Mcgrath. For the ability to take wickets when they're needed, Lee definately stepped up to the plate.

I think Mitchell has a future, but i don't think he's earnt the blind faith he gets from Ponting.

It reminds me of Shane Watson, who got the same blind faith from Ponting, and whilst he had some good games, generally he was disappointing.

I couldn't agree more. He doesn't seem as potent as the part timers, but he troubles the batsmen pretty well. He does enough to worry them, then their wicket goes to the pace attack in the next over hah

I want them to pick the best available option, who is clearly Bryce McGain.

Obviously you'd want a youngster, but what do you gain by promoting a youngster who hasn't earnt it, instead of an older guy who has clearly been the best (and only quality) spinner in domestic cricket this year.
