    Starting with "Tough!" was saying that you weren't there just to comment with your own opinion, you were telling him to shut up and deal with it. He didn't seem that bothered with his own comment, merely a throwaway thought.

    Then you said your point, making SURE to CAPITALISE so that the poor idiot you were responding to UNDERSTOOD your point CLEARLY.

    And then you were pretty rude by stating how unimportant he is to her life. We of course, they don't know each other. It was a statement uneeded and absolutely unconstructive. Just you being kinda aggressive and rude to the guy for just sharing his casual thought.
