Again I envy you!!! I would have loved being that way & the point of reference, but fate (without being melodramatic) decided otherwise.
What's important is "Feeling at home", in my case I feel a stranger wherever I am, but I've grown used to it.

I think they are in love & are happy, but I still wouldn't get married.

As her acting career, I wouldn't rate her that high, Maisie I think is a far better actor & has much more potential.

 

Coming up.. my verdict on Hanna so far (I'm up to ep5).

I loved the film & while the new Hanna is a good actor, for the most part so far (finished ep5)
she's an afterthought, left to wander the streets, make a chav friend in Morocco and sample
teen life in South London.

It's a Euro-pudding, filled with a lot of actors really "Acting", there are stereotypical nasty CIA agents
and "Euro" characters who hang around warehouses.
It reminds me of French television drama's made to fulfil their quota of French-made TV drama.

The original Bourne movie made Europe high impact, as does "Killing Eve", with "Hanna" you're waiting for something to happen
while she hangs around a club.

The back story is laboured.

I've lost 5 hours of my life so far, but in the hope, it improves I'll see it to the end.

But so far Hanna is a missed opportunity.

Love this!!! To me Maisie totally wins it, you're just out the door and Maisie is working it.
Sophie goes into Sansa mode & for the most part, looks bored.
Maisie also wins in what she's wearing, your friend is taller but covers her legs, so what do you do?
In fairness, it looks Sophie is wearing flats, but she was going to tower over Maisie anyway.

I was more of a TV series buff when i was a bit younger. But after seeing Lost for a season or two i felt rather tired of the concept it had. Dont reveal anything and add 3 or 4 new question marks that may or may not be answered at the end of the season. That is why i still are more drawn to hospital TV series. A new medical problem is presented and it is solved in the same episode. Maybe there is a two parter at the end with a cliffhanger leading to next years season. Just a small thought on it since you talked about Hanna friends, i still miss House M.D. by the way.

 

I think so many series suffer from padding out, the average US drama season/series is 22 episodes long.
In the UK, anything from 6 - 12, for 22 episodes that's a lot of screen time to fill (average of 43mins x 22) sadly the writing seems to suffer?

 

I like both actually. It really depends on the show and the quality. There are certain shows that are best as drawn-out marathons of sorts, where adding layers and questions as you seemingly get closure on other plot points before leading to the ultimate end is best. Lost was one of those, but how they went about it was maddening, as it was obvious after a while that they had no clue where it was leading and just wanted to prove they were smarter than everyone else and thus it became nonsensical egotrips by the writers, "Haha, look how smart I am as I make things even more confusing and provide zero answers". Buffy on the other hand, you felt there was a plan for the most part all along, save for adjustments in the event of certain characters/pairings either becoming fan favorites or not getting the reception expected. Yes, it added questions and problems to deal with as you also reached conclusions with other arcs, but it never felt like they were just throwing shit against a wall and seeing what stuck or trying to just muck it up to intentionally drag it out. I think a big reason premium cable series and streaming series have developed into the biggest shows now is because they not only don't have content restrictions, they don't have the imposed deadlines or episode orders in some cases and can create and write them naturally instead of being "Oh shit, gotta start filming in a few weeks, lets start just writing something/anything to make it on time". I remember the controversy over The Sopranos when they went like 18 months between seasons, because that was such an anomaly. We were so used to there being only a 3-4 month break between seasons, now it's normal to see shows take several months or over a year between seasons(Fleabag went almost 3 years between seasons, GoT has always had lengthy breaks for a few examples).

I love Sophie Checking Maisie's tits while Joe stands there lookin on, that's actually the first thing I've seen the three of them together.

How do I watch all these TV series?
