Thank you for the extra star!!!!

    Meanwhile

Its freezing, i need comfort food, also our office is in a Victorian converted building (think Charles Dickens)
    it's like a Victorian igloo!
I'm going to sing carols for Charity (i can't sing, people will be paying me to stop) under the tree in Trafalgar Square after work.

Plus its Christmas Jumper at work day.

Last night i arrived back in Heathrow, i am the biggest wuss, i was tearing up in arrivals, it was like the opening scene
of Love Actually, if you haven't seen it here it is.

Actually they should, some London Underground stations play Classical music now.

Lovely! I was joking, of course, but I wonder how long "Classical" music will continue to hold the position in people's minds that it does currently? I was a Cathedral choirboy, so not entirely unpredictably my prime musical interest has been Renaissance choral liturgical polyphony, from which "Classical" music ultimately evolved. I can't help wondering whether a youngster brought up in a "Rap" environment doesn't find such music impenetrable and boring, and whether future generations subject to or participating in whatever musical styles prevail will ultimately find what we currently call "Classical" music to be positively archaeological and quaint?

I remember a episode of Star Trek TNG where they reffered to The Beatles as "Classical Music", so you might be right about the future.
I'm 26, but i love looking at the faces of people younger than me listening to music that was huge in the noughties but they haven't got a clue.
My Dad was a DJ, so i had a "into the music background", you can't generalise but it's ironic, more than anytime in history you have more
access to music than ever before, but people of all ages seem to have narrowcast instead of broadcast?

I've found that Milleniums know some tracks, but only because they've been sampled now.
My fav app on my phone is Shazzam, i've discovered so much new music via that.

Fuck reading that back i sound old.

There again i play Thomas Tallis at home.

    Meanwhile
Its alright wearing Christmas when you're out, but the minute you come inside its like walking around in a sauna.
Apart from our office which is like a igloo.

Went Carol singing last night, mulled wine is bad, but not as evil as egg nog.

I'm going to a Wedding tomorrow.

They wanted a Christmas Wedding but I don't want to look like Nanook of the North in the Wedding photos or as my friend Nicole said... spot the wookie.

Bloody right! I've often wondered what Christmas must be like in mid-summer Australia? And what do you do there for your Winter Solstice, if anything?

Shortest day of the year in the Northern, longest in the Southern hemisphere, there's no twilight as such in Australia, its sunset & pretty much to darkness.

The Solstice is observed but I've never been to one.

Christmas is around the school holidays so you get around two weeks, I've never had Christmas lunch/turkey on the beach, but since its the middle of Summer it's more outdoors orientated, but it still in the main follows European Christmases.

Ok it's not raining, its cold but not freezing and i'm all but dressed for the wedding, we've decided not to dress like its cold.

If they were having their wedding in a winter setting like snow & mountains and stuff i wouldn't mind dressing for the weather.
But they're not and i don't want us looking like two Wookies in the Wedding photographs in a setting where you wouldn't know
    what the weather is like.

Tomorrow my Aunt is arriving from Canada, cue more "Love Actually" moments.

    Meanwhile

Any rapidly-wiped-away tears at the wedding - something in your eye? You've got your status as a wuss to uphold after all!
Regardless, I hope all went well and the photographs work out as planned?
