yeah, lets reel that back a bit. Didn't save her life, just stopped her from needing dialysis. Which sucks, but not life or death.

That's because a large majority of dialysis patients begin after 65.

This is not discount what Francia did; I wouldn't wish the rigors of dialysis on anyone, it sucks. But to call it "life-saving" is a bit much, IMHO.

My father, 85 yrs old, has been on dialysis for 12 years. I had to move in with my parents because he is disabled and my mother is having issues.

Have no idea where you got that stat but it is way off. What is the basis of this stat? In a year, 5? 10? Does it include the fact most dialysis patients have another major health issue?

Most people do well on dialysis for the first couple years depending on if they have other ailments. I'm just curious where this stat came from and what it's based off.

    Off soap box.

"Life" saving... Maybe saved her from not having a life... 3-4 times a week, 3-4 hours. Always have to be around a dialysis center... It's very restricting.

    Don't talk shit.
My aunty died while on dialysis because she couldn't get a donor kidney.
    Of course it's life threatening.

    Cute girl !

So happy that i did meet a great doctor at the kidney clinic who made everything for me to avoid dialysis as my kidneys were down to 19 % capacity.
    Dialysis is NOT fun !
Today they are back at about 52 %, which is ok at my age.
