I heard rumors about kate mara in her new movie but I haven't see any bootleg caps yet.

They mention its Kate Mara's first nude scene in a film, but not forgetting the brief glimpse in "House of Cards" or was that a body double?

 

1. It is said to be a body double.
2. But even if not, House of Cards is not a film.

 

She was also in a sheer top in the movie Shooter a few years ago

"It is said" is a rumor. Most often someone has reasoned "don't see her face" = BD. There is historical basis for this rule of thumb. But IMO it is unreliable today, if it ever was. We should consider the possibility, but it is not definitive proof by itself.

"Not a film" is true, but not a strong point. Lucy Lawless, Emmy Rossum, Ivana Milicevic did plenty of nude scenes. In TV shows, granted. Some media shill says "first time in a film", I'm calling BS on that. It's exactly the same as saying Andie MacDowell's first ever nude scene, which is nothing less than a flat lie, plain & simple.

And yet, no, not forgetting Kate Mara's butt in House of Cards. It was her, very likely. Kate said so, even if her wording was ambiguous. If she was intentionally weaseling out of giving a straight answer, it would amount to a lie. The director also confirmed it. There are possible reasons for them to lie about it. Possible reasons that cut in both directions. But I believe them.

It's just, butt doesn't count. That's my opinion, but I'm not alone. Many actresses think so too. People like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who has avoided nudity but recently bared her butt in Fargo. She has dipped her toe in the water. She could stop there. Then I'd say she never took the plunge. She'd be still a nudity dodger, in my view. (Someone who takes a sexy role, often even goes so far as to sign a nudity rider, but always talks her way out of the scene.) If she ever shoots a scene showing a nipple, I'm down with saying that will be MEW's "first nude scene".

Ditto for Kate Mara's topless in My Days of Mercy. Even if that bare butt in HoC was totally her.
